Welcome to Ms. Walker's 5th grade class website! I am so excited to have you in my class this year. If you are reading this, it is likely that you have a student in class with me. I am so excited to begin this year with your scholars! We do have a lot to accomplish this year. If the information below does not answer your questions please feel free to contact me either by e-mail or you may call me at Lawrence Orr Elementary School (980-343-9919).
My name is Mallory Walker and this is my fourth year teaching. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May of 2015. I have a degree in elementary education with a minor in children's literature (I love to read). I have always loved school and I have always loved all subjects but my favorite is reading. I believe that reading will take you to anywhere you want to go.
I will hold your student to very high expectations when it comes to school work, following procedures, and having the correct behaviors while they are here at school. I also have high expectations when it comes to homework. Homework is 40% of your students grade and it critical in their success. I have the high expectations because I believe that students whom are held to high standards and who are accountable will perform and meet every expectation. At the end of the day, we all want the students to grow and become well prepared for the upcoming years. While I do have these high expectations, I also believe that students should enjoy and feel safe in the environment that they spend so much of their time in. I am really looking forward to the school year with your student! Please feel free to contact me at any time! Mallory Walker Lawrence Orr Elementary School 5th Grade [email protected] 980-343-9919 |
